The Assistant Counselor is responsible for performing a wide variety of client/residential-focused activities as directed by the Program Coordinator. The Assistant Counselor is responsible for providing consistent structure, supervision and behavior management of clients. The Assistant Counselor will assist with crisis intervention and incident reporting. The Assistant Counselor is expected to maintain and model at all times appropriate behavior and interactions for co-workers and clients. This individual may be expected to co-facilitate therapeutic groups with Program/Clinical Coordinator(s) and assist with group documentation. The Assistant Counselor is responsible for attending all scheduled mandatory staff meetings and monthly supervision with Program Coordinator. The Assistant Counselor will assist in planning activities for clients and will be responsible for supervising all activities. He/she will be responsible for conducting on-going surveys of center, fire alarm and room alarm for maintenance needs. The Assistant Counselor is responsible for completing Shift Task Sheet, Level System Daily Check List and any additional tasks delegated by Shift Leader and Program Coordinator. This individual will be expected to answer the resident telephone and take messages if necessary as well as drive the company van when necessary.

Graduation with a high school diploma or GED equivalent with minimum of 2 years experience working with at-risk youth; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
